The Freedom of Information Act requires that all town commission and board meetings be public. The schedule for a board’s regular meetings must be filed each year with the town clerk. Special meetings may be called up to 24 hours in advance. Emergency meetings may be held without notice; however, the board must file its minutes — including the reason for the emergency — at the town clerk’s office within 72 hours of the meeting.
